This is the Best Sweet Cornbread Recipe you will ever make. It's moist, fluffy, and sweet, thanks to the sugar and honey added to the batter. This is my favorite homemade cornbread recipe, and is an easy side to any meal.

  • 10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. honey


  • Preheat oven to 400F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl add softened butter and sugar. Cream together with a hand mixer until mixture is well combined.
  • Add in milk, lightly beaten eggs, and honey and mix with a hand mixer until just combined.
  • In a medium size bowl combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a hand mixer until well combined.
  • Pour in the remaining dry ingredients and mix well, scraping the sides of the bowl.
  • Spread batter into prepared 9×13 baking pan and bake in a preheated 400 F oven for 22-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
  • Serve warm with butter and honey if desired. Enjoy!
