One Hour Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls

Skip the Cinnabon trip and make these one-hour Cinnabon Cinnamon rolls from scratch. They are ooey gooey delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. instant yeast, 2 1/4 tsp.
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Filling

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions
 

Dough

  • In a large bowl of a stand mixer, mix the flour, the sugar, salt, and yeast together until evenly dispersed. In a small microwavable bowl, heat the water, milk, and butter together in the microwave until the butter is melted (about 30-45 seconds).

  • Pour the butter mixture into the flour mixture, add egg and mix with a stand mixer until combined.
  • Allow the stand mixer to knead the dough for 3-4 minutes. Place in a lightly greased bowl and let rise for about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 200F

Filling

  • After the dough has rested, roll into a 15x9 inch rectangle.
  • Spread the softened butter evenly on top. Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together and evenly sprinkle over butter.
  • Roll up tightly and cut into 9 even pieces. Place in a greased 9x9 inch square pan and cover with a piece of saran wrap or tin foil.
  • *TURN OFF OVEN* and place cinnamon rolls into warm oven and let rise for 20 minutes.
  • After rolls have risen for 20 minutes, preheat oven to 375F, remove pan from oven, remove plastic wrap, and pour heavy cream evenly over rolls. Place back in the oven immediately and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Frosting

  • While cinnamon rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing softened butter, softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
