When we are craving a good cheeseburger this Easy Copycat In-N-Out cheeseburger is our go to recipe. We especially love to make our double double cheeseburger “animal Style”. Animal style cheeseburgers are on their “secret” menu and come with yellow mustard fried into each hamburger patty, melted American cheese, grilled onions, and include extra secret sauce.
In a small bowl add mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, and sugar, Mix well to combine and set aside.
Grilled Onions
In a small to medium skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 Tbsp. butter and finely chopped onions. Stir occasionally until well browned.
Once onions start to sizzle and look dry, add 1 Tbsp. water and stir. Continue cooking until water evaporates and onions look dry again. Repeat this process 2-3 times until onions become soft and dark brown. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside.
