This simple Cornbread Waffles With Chili is easy to whip up and ready to serve in only 15 minutes. Homemade cornbread is made with basic pantry ingredients, cooked in a waffle iron, and topped with chili, cheese, and sour cream. This is the perfect weeknight family dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 oil
  • 2 cans of chili beans
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions
 

  • In a medium size mixing bowl add cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt and mix ingredients together.
  • Add milk, egg, egg white, and oil and whisk until combined.
  • Add 1/4-1/2 cup of cornbread batter to a greased waffle iron. Cook until done and waffles are browned.
  • Top with warm chili beans, shredded cheese, and sour cream. Enjoy!
