This easy Greek chicken gyro recipe with tzatziki is simple to make and is even more delicious than takeout! The chicken is soaked in a flavorful Greek marinade, the homemade Tzatziki sauce is perfectly seasoned, and it is all served together in warm pita bread for the perfect homemade Greek sandwich.
Add chicken to a large bowl or ziplock bag. Combine marinade ingredients and pour over chicken. Stir well to coat and marinate for 1-4 hours.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine Tzatziki ingredients and stir to combine well. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Once chicken has had a chance to marinate, preheat skillet or grill to medium-high and cook chicken until no longer pink and cooked through. Remove and allow to rest for 5 minutes before cutting into bite size pieces.
