Key Lime Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
  

Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix plus ingredients on box
  • 3 oz. package lime JELLO mix
  • 2 limes, juiced

Frosting

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz. cool whip
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 limes juiced
  • zest from 2 limes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F and spray a 9x13 cake pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl add cake mix, ingredients on the back of box, JELLO mix, and lime juice. Beat until well combined with hand mixer.
  • Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean when inserted. Allow cake to cool completley.
  • While cake is cooling prepare frosting by beating softened cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, lime juice, and lime zest until mixed well.
  • Add cool whip and continue beating until creamy and smooth.
  • Spread frosting evenly over cooled cake and Enjoy!
