Ingredients
  

Cake

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 cup mashed bananas

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Instructions
 

Cake Batter

  • Preheat oven to 350F and spray a 9x13 cake pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl beat softened butter and sugar until combined.
  • Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla. Continue beating until smooth and creamy.
  • Next, add flour, baking soda, and salt and beat until just combined.
  • Stir in mashed bananas until batter is mixed well.
  • Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 30-32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean with inserted in the middle.
  • Remove from the oven and allow cake to cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • Prepare frosting by beating softened butter and cream cheese until mixed well.
  • Add vanilla and powdered sugar and continue beating until smooth. *Frosting should be thick*
  • Frost cooled cake, top each piece of cake with a slice of banana and chopped walnuts if desired. Enjoy!
