Instant Pot Root Beer Pulled Pork

Instant Pot Root Beer Pulled Pork is fall-apart tender and only need 4- ingredients to make. Perfect for a quick and easy pulled pork sandwich family dinner or to top nachos, a salad or more.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs pork roast (cut into 4 large equal chunks, fat trimmed off)
  • 12 ounces root beer
  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions
 

  • Pour root beer and onion soup into the Instant Pot. Stir together until well combined.
  • Place the pork chunks into the Instant Pot.
  • Put the lid on Instant Pot and set the valve to sealing. Select pressure cook high, high pressure. Set a time to cook for 60 minutes.
  • When the pork is done cooking, turn off the Instant Pot and let the pressure naturally release for 15 minutes. Then turn the valve to release allow any remaining pressure to be released.
  • Remove the lid and remove pork. Drain 3/4 of the liquid out and add the pork back inside
  • Shred pork using 2 forks.
  • Add 2 cups of barbecue sauce to the pork and stir.
  • Serve bbq pork on sandwiches, salad, nachos, etc.

Notes

*If your roast is larger than 3 pounds. Add an additional 20 minutes for every pound.
