Ingredients for sweet cornbread
- Unsalted Butter: I prefer to use unsalted butter in my recipes so that I can control the salt content in the recipe.
- Sugar: White granulated sugar is used in this recipe, but you can always use half white and half brown sugar.
- Eggs: Are used as a binding agent and also adds fluffiness to the cornbread.
- Milk: I used 1% milk, but whole milk would also work.
- All Purpose Flour: Is versatile and used most when baking.
- Yellow Cornmeal: Cornmeal is used as a base in cornbread. I used Quaker Yellow Cornmeal in this recipe.
- Baking Powder: Is used to increase the volume and lighten the texture in baked goods.
- Salt: Using a small amount of salt will enhance the other flavors in the recipe.
- Honey: Adding honey will add a touch of flavor and added sweetness.
