The Most Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Can I just tell you how much I love my air fryer! Especially in the Summer when I don’t want to turn on my oven and heat up my house. These Air fryer cookies are one of my favorite dessert recipes to make. The outside of the cookie has a nice golden brown color, crisp edges, and the softest and chewiest inside. Ingredients for air fryer chocolate chip cookies

  • Butter: I like to use unsalted butter when baking. Salted butter will also work, but you may want to cut back on the added salt.
  • Brown Sugar: Light or dark brown sugar both work well.
  • Granulated Sugar: I like to use a combination of both white granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  • Egg: If you have time to let your egg come to room temperature before baking, that it best.
  • Vanilla: Vanilla extract or pure vanilla both work well.
  • Flour: I use all-purpose flour in this recipe.
  • Baking Soda: Baking soda is a leavening agent and will give the cookies that nice fluffy texture.
  • Salt: Salt brings out the sweet flavor in baked goods.
  • Chocolate Chips: Milk chocolate, semi-sweet, dark, or white chocolate chips are all great options.
  • Parchment Paper: Parchment paper is critical when baking cookies in the air fryer.

How to make the best cookies in the air fryer

  • In a medium size mixing bowl beat softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar with a hand mixer until fully combined.
  • Add egg and vanilla and continue beating until smooth and creamy.
  • Slowly add in flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • Add chocolate chips and stir until mixed completely.
  • Cover and refrigerate dough for at least 30 minutes. This is optional.
  • Line air fryer basket with parchment paper (poke a few holes in the parchment paper to keep in from flying up).
  • Scoop 2 Tbsp. of cookie dough and place in the air fryer. You should be able to put four dough balls in the basket at a time.
  • Air fry at 325F for 7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Allow cookies to rest in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes before removing them. Enjoy!

Tips and Tricks for making chocolate chip cookies

  • If you want your cookies to be a little flatter, flatten your cookie dough before air frying. Cookies in the air fryer don’t spread like a regular oven.
  • You can either use parchment paper that is made for air fryers, or you can poke holes in regular parchment paper. Make sure you are not placing your cookie dough right on the air fry rack. The dough will just fall right through and ruin your cookie.
  • Chilling your dough in the fridge is optional.

Tips on How to freeze cookie dough

If you are not baking all the cookies at one time, you can store the cookie dough in the fridge or freezer and enjoy cookies anytime. Simply scoop dough into individual balls and place them in air tight containers or freezer safe bags. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days and freeze for up to 3 months.

When ready to air fry cookies, allow them to thaw for 10 minutes before baking. Add 1-2 extra minutes of baking time.
