My favorite thing is to eat these cookies while the chocolate kiss is still warm. You can eat them fresh out of the oven or pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to warm up the chocolate. I promise, it’s delicious.

Recipe Variations

  • Use a different nut butter. Can’t have peanut butter, try using cashew butter or almond butter.
  • Try using different sugar to coat the cookies with. Add red or green food coloring to white granulated sugar to give the peanut butter cookies a festive look.
  • Try different Hershey Kiss flavors, there are so many choices.

Tips for the perfect peanut butter blossom cookies

  • Use creamy peanut butter and not chunky.
  • I like to chill my dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This ensures your cookies will not fall flat.
  • Have chocolates unwrapped and ready to go when the cookies come out of the oven. You want to press kisses into cookies straight from the oven.
  • Place cookie sheet in the fridge after pressing chocolate into cookies. This will allow the chocolate to set up.

Peanut Butter Blossom FAQ’s

How long do peanut butter blossoms last?

If you keep these homemade peanut butter kiss cookies in an airtight container, they should last 4-5 days. If your family is anything like mine, they will be gone in a couple of days.

Can I freeze cookie dough?

Yes, you can definitely freeze the cookie dough. You can either place the cookie dough into an airtight container in the freezer and pull it out to thaw when you are ready to bake. Or roll dough into individual balls, place on a baking sheet, freeze, and then place frozen cookie dough balls into an airtight container or Ziplock bag. Cookie dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.

How to make peanut butter blossom cookies festive?

If you are like me and like to make your cookies festive for Christmas, try adding colored sugar to the outside of the dough. Instead of rolling the dough in white granulated sugar, mix a few drops of red or green food coloring into the sugar before rolling the cookie. It’s a cute little cookie to take to the neighbors.
