This Easy Brazilian Lemonade recipe is the creamiest and sweetest homemade lemonade you will ever try. Made with only 4 ingredients, this Brazilian lemonade is an easy and refreshing drink that you can enjoy all year round.
What Is Brazilian Lemonade
Brazilian lemonade, as you probably already noticed, is actuallyย Brazilian Limeade, made with fresh limes. It’s called lemonade because the word for lime in Portuguese isย limรฃo, so in Portuguese they call itย limonada, which translates to lemonade.
Ingredients for Brazilian Lemonade
- Limes: You want to pick 4 juicy limes with smooth thin skin.
- Sugar: You will use white granulated sugar.
- Water: Tap water, filtered water, or bottled water all work well.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: Sweetened condensed milk adds a creaminess to the lemonade. I prefer to use fat free.
How to make Brazilian Lemonade
- Wash Limes thoroughly to remove any pesticides and wax. Cut each lime into 1/8ths.
- Add limes, water, and sugar to your blender and pulse 4 to 5 times. *The more you blend the limes, the more bitter the drink can become. You only need to pulse it a few times to get that delicious lime flavor*
- Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the lime pulp down with a spoon to release all the juice. Discard pulp.
- Stir in sweetened condensed milk until fully combined.
- Serve over ice and add slice of lime if desired. Enjoy
Tips for the best Brazillian lemonade
- Choose limes that have a thin smooth skin.
- To keep limeade from becoming bitter, only pulse your blender a few times. If you over blend the limes, your drink can become too bitter to drink.
- Is it too sweet for you? Add less sweetened condensed milk.
- This lemonade is best the day it is made.
