Ingredients for the best homemade Garlic Parmesan Knots

  • Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits: I like to use Pillsbury Grands biscuit dough.
  • Unsalted Butter: Unsalted butter is best for this recipe because you can control the salt content in your recipe.
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese: Grated parmesan cheese works better than shredded.
  • Garlic Powder: I prefer garlic powder over fresh garlic for these knots.
  • Dried Oregano: Is a common spice used in Italian dishes and works well paired with garlic.
  • Dried Parsley:
  • Salt: Add more or less depending on your taste.

Tips for making the best garlic knots

  • You may need to microwave reserved garlic butter for 20 seconds before brushing it on warm rolls from the oven. As butter sits, it tends to harden a bit.
  • You can substitute refrigerated pizza dough for biscuit dough if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Parmesan garlic knots are delicious served with a side of marinara sauce for a delicious appetizer.

Tying the perfect garlic knot

After each biscuit has been cut in half, roll each ball into a long rope, about 1/2 inch thick and 8 inches long.

Tie the rope into a knot and place them on a prepared baking sheet.

That’s it. So Easy!!!

How to tie a garlic knot

Freezing and storing garlic knots

Store in an air-tight container or bag at room temperature for 2-3 days.

To Freeze After Baked: Allow garlic knots to cool completely and place them in a freezer ziplock bag. Store for up to 2 months. When you are ready to eat them, remove from freezer and allow them to thaw. Pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds for a warm knot.
