What Is The Difference Between A Brownie And A Blondie?
The difference between a brownie and a blondie comes mainly from the color and main ingredients. They do have a few ingredients in common such as eggs, flour, sugar, and butter, and they both have a fudgy texture. Blondies have no chocolate in them and instead use vanilla extract and brown sugar to give the bar flavor. They are rich and sweet and are rarely frosted. Blondies often contained flavored chips like white chocolate, butterscotch, and peanut butter. Brownies and blondies are both so delicious and are easy to make.
Tips For Making The Best Blondie
- I like using parchment paper in the bottom of my pan when baking. This will keep the bottom of your cookie bars from getting too brown and crispy.
- Don’t over mix batter. You want to stir until ingredients are just combined. Over mixing will create dense cookie bars.
- Don’t over bake blondies. You want to bake them until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
How To Serve A Blondie?
My favorite way to serve white chocolate blondies is warm with a big scoop of cold vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
However, they are just as delicious served at room temperature straight from the pan.
Blondie Variations
Do you like nuts? Try adding 1 cup of your favorite chopped nuts. I love to add pecans or walnuts.
Instead of white chocolate chips, substitute them with milk chocolate chips.
Add 1/2 cup mashed bananas for a hint of banana flavor.
Add 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries along with the white chocolate chips.
Try adding different flavor of baking chips. We love the flavor of butterscotch chips, topped with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce. Delicious.
How To Store Blondies?
If you happen to have leftovers of this delicious dessert recipe, you can keep them stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. They are delicious eaten at room temperature or my favorite way to eat them is warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds.
