Easy Crock Pot Creamy Taco Cheese Dip is the best game day appetizer that everyone will love. Isn’t everyone a big fan of cheese dip when your at a party??

When we get together with friends or family our favorite party appetizers include an easy cheese dip made in the crock pot so that we can enjoy it warm all night long. This creamy taco dip is so easy to make and taste so dang good.

Some of our favorite party appetizers are our Rotel Cheese Dip, and our Copycat Chili’s Queso Dip. Decide what cheese dip you want to make, or make all three, and whip up a batch for New Year’s Eve, potlucks, or Superbowl parties. Your guests will not be disappointed.

Ingredients Needed For Creamy Taco Cheese Dip

  • Velveeta Cheese: Can use reduced fat Velveeta cheese.
  • Cream Cheese: Also can use reduced fat or fat free cream cheese.
  • Salsa: This recipe calls for 16 oz. of your favorite salsa. I prefer to use our homemade canning salsa.

How To Make Creamy Taco Dip In The Crock Pot

This has to be one of the easiest game day appetizers you will make. Just throw all the ingredients in the crock pot, stir occasionally, and serve with tortilla chips.

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked. Drain grease, and add half of the package of taco seasoning to cooked meat and stir to combine.
  • Spray a large 4โ€“6-quart crock pot with nonstick cooking spray. Add cooked ground beef, cubed Velveeta cheese, cubed cream cheese, salsa, and the remaining taco seasoning to crock pot and stir to combine.
  • Cook on low for 1 1/2-2 hours, or until all cheese has completely melted and becomes creamy.
  • Serve with your favorite tortilla chips. Enjoy!

How To Make Cheese Dip In a Skillet

In a large skillet over medium heat add ground beef and brown until fully cooked. Drain grease, and add half the package of taco seasoning.

Lower heat to medium low and add cubed Velveeta cheese, cubed cream cheese, salsa, and the remaining taco seasoning.

Stir frequently until the cheese has melted and dip has become nice and creamy.

Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with your favorite tortilla chips.

Substitutions And Variations

Meat: Substitute ground sausage, ground turkey, or ground chicken for the ground beef. If you like it a little spicier, try adding spicy ground sausage.

Cheese: Try adding Queso Blanco Velveeta cheese instead of using the regular yellow cheese.

Spice: If your family loves things a little spicier, try adding a can of diced green chilies or diced jalapenos.

Salsa: I like to use our homemade canning salsa in this cheesy taco dip, but feel free to use your favorite salsa.
