This honey garlic chicken recipe is very simple to make and, because it is a slow cooker recipe, all of the work is done in advance. Popular Substitutions & Additions

I always recommend low sodium soy sauce, but if you only have regular soy sauce, you can use that in your honey garlic chicken.

Want to add some extra flavor or a little crunch to your honey garlic chicken? Add some sliced bell peppers into the slow cooker. They soak up the sauce and are delicious!

To add some spice to this chicken, add in a pinch or two of crushed red pepper.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Storage & Leftovers

Slow cooker honey garlic chicken can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container once it has completely cooled. It will remain fresh for up to three days. You can reheat individual portions in the microwave, or even put it back into the slow cooker if you are reheating a large batch and have the time.

Easy Honey Garlic Chicken FAQs

Do I have to shred the chicken or can I leave it diced?

You can leave it diced or shred it, whichever you prefer!

Do I have to spray my slow cooker or can I just line it?

You can do it either way! If you spray, make sure you get the corners so that nothing will stick.

How will I know that my chicken is completely cooked?

When your chicken is completely cooked, it will easily shred with two forks. If you aren’t shredding your chicken, you can check the temperature with a meat thermometer to see if it is cooked.
