One of my favorite things about this holiday treat is that it takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish. It’s made with simple pantry ingredients and is so easy to prepare. If you love getting your kids involved in the kitchen, this is one snack mix they will enjoy making.

- Chex Cereal
- Golden Grahams
- Sweetened Coconut
- Slivered Almonds
- Sugar
- Butter
- Corn Syrup

How to make Gooey Almond Coconut Chex Mix
This has got to be one of the easiest snack mix recipes you will ever make. Make a big batch if you are in the mood for sharing or split the recipe anytime, you’re craving a sweet treat! I highly recommend the largest mixing bowl you have when you are making this recipe. You want enough room to stir and coat all ingredients well.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease your pan. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl mix together Chex cereal, Golden Grahams, coconut, and slivered almonds.
- In a medium saucepan add sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil and continue stirring for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and pour hot butter mixture over Chex mix. Stir to coat all ingredients well.
- Spread mixture evenly on prepared baking sheet or a large piece of parchment paper and let cool.

I have made this delicious snack mix many times over the years. I have listed a few tips that I wish I would have known when I first made this recipe. Follow the instructions and tips below, and you will have perfectly delicious, and highly addictive gooey Chex mix.
Boil: Make sure after butter mixture comes to a boil you let it boil for 2-3 minutes, continually stirring.
Nuts: If you’re not a fan of slivered almonds feel free to use peanuts, cashews, or pecans. They are all great options.
Butter: This recipe calls for unsalted butter. If you only have salted butter on hand, omit the salt.
Large Bowl: Be sure to use a large bowl when making this recipe. It makes quite a bit, so you need a bowl large enough to mix ingredients properly.
Small Batch: If you would like to make a smaller batch, cut recipe in half.
How To Store Sweet Chex Mix
If you have extra Chex mix leftover, store it in an airtight container or a large Ziplock bag for up to 5 days. If your anything like my family, this sweet Chex mix only lasts a couple days.

Ingredients
- 12 oz. rice Chex cereal
- 12 oz. golden grahams cereal
- 2 cups sweetened coconut
- 2 cups sliced almonds
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
