Tips for making the best Cajun chicken alfredo pasta
- Pound or roll chicken breast before cooking to allow chicken to cook evenly.
- Be sure to rub Cajun seasoning into chicken and coat it well on both sides.
- Make sure oil is hot before adding chicken to the pan. This will give the meat a good sear on the outside.
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes after cooking. This will ensure the meat stays nice and juicy.
- Cook pasta until al dente.
- If your Alfredo sauce is too thick add a little more heavy cream or some pasta water one tablespoon at a time until it reaches your desired thickness.
What kind of parmesan cheese should I use?
You want to use shredded parmesan cheese for homemade alfredo sauce. The texture is better and it melts a lot better that grated. You can use pre shredded or buy a block of parmesan cheese and shred your own.
Can I use different pasta noodles?
Of course you can. I used fettuccine noodles for a classic chicken alfredo look, but feel free to use any pasta noodles you have on hand. I would stay away form angel hair pasta though.
