How To Make The Best Meatball Sliders
1-Preheat oven to 350F and lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish.
2-Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add frozen meatballs and marinara sauce. Cover and cook until meatballs are no longer frozen and warm throughout. Once meatballs are warm remove from heat.
3-While meatballs are warming, lay Hawaiian rolls on a cutting board. With a serrated knife slice the whole slab of rolls in half horizontally. Remove the top slab of rolls and set aside.
4-Reserving the heated marinara sauce, spoon a warmed meatball on each individual roll section.
5-Cover meatballs with shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
6-Place top slab of Hawaiian rolls over meatballs and cheese.
7-In a small mixing bowl whisk together melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Brush the top of the rolls with butter mixture.
8-Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese over rolls.
9-Cover and bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5-7 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
10-Remove from oven and serve with reserved marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
Can I Use Homemade Meatballs Instead Of Frozen?
Yes, of course you can use homemade meatballs instead of frozen. I prefer homemade meatballs because I think they have a little more flavor, but when I’m pressed for time and need a quick and easy weeknight dinner, I grab the frozen meatballs. What Can I Serve With Meatball Sliders?
Meatball sliders are the perfect game day appetizer or party snack, but in my family we love to serve them as an easy family dinner recipe with some of our favorite side dishes to make it a complete meal. If you are looking for a delicious side dish to go with your meatball sliders our Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges are filling and would be yummy dipped in some marinara sauce. Our Veggie Pasta Salad and Strawberry Spinach Salad are a couple lighter side dish options, but all three side dishes pair well with Italian sliders.
Can I Make Meatball Sliders Ahead Of Time?
You can prepare all the ingredients for the meatball sliders ahead of time, but I wouldn’t recommend assembling them until you are ready to bake them in the oven and serve. If you assemble them in advance, the marinara sauce can make the bottom roll of the slider soggy.
How To Keep Sliders Warm If Serving Them For A Party
IF you’re serving your sliders for a party and want to keep them warm reduce the heat on your oven to 200F, cover sliders and bring them out when you are ready to serve.
